Mission Statement and Keeping Areas Clean.

*Street Cat Society’s mission is QUALITY care for community cats. This requires physical, dirty work and feeding at consistent 2mes (within an hour or so every day). The work is similar to “work on the farm”. It requires washing dishes/having clean dishes for each feeding, brushing out the feeding stations, which are located on the ground and access requires getting on hands and knees. (We are working on building new stations with easy access).

*Feeding requires putting out clean water and fresh food daily. The cats have their routine and their likes and dislikes. We put out individual dishes for them to eat while we clean and fill stations and fill water. We pick up any empty dishes when we are finished.

*There are 2 colonies near dumpsters. Frequently there is broken glass and “people food” all over the ground. For the safety and well being of the cats, the glass needs to be swept up and the food picked up and thrown out.

We will provide the food and dishes. However, disposable gloves are recommended and rags or paper towels are needed. We cannot supply the gloves or towels.

While feeding the cats, they need to be observed for any sickness, injury or any new ones without ear tips. It will take some time for the cats to get to know you, so you won’t see many at first. If you see any cats in need of medical care, please let us know where and what the cat(s) look like so we can try to get them help. This is ONLY for our established colonies. At this point, we are not able to feed and care for cats other than the ones currently in our care.
